FREEDOM ISSUE

Thank You Vietnam Veterans

Many of you never came home. You went, not for glory, but because the date of your birthday was a low number in the draft lottery and you were not a fortunate son. Some enlisted to choose the branch of service that your father served in during World War 2. You loved the USA so much that you didn't evade the draft by fleeing to freedom in a neighboring country. While you were being shot at in a rice paddy, citizens were telling politicians to to stop the war. Student protesters were gunned down by the National Guard. It took until 1982 for your country to erect a memorial and start saying thank you and welcome home.
