| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For 40 years, bikers have complained about their helmets, but as of Halloween, 2007, there were only 20 official complaints going back to 1995 on file at the NHTSA. There are 500,000 helmets recalled and most are probably on our heads! Tell NHTSA to force helmet makers to make helmets they are willing to stand behind and are rated for 70 mph. If they made a better product, the government would not have to force people to wear these torture devices.

Gilbert Public Safety Memorial Ride/Poker Run
Meet at Evolution Custom Cycles at 617 S. McClintock, Tempe AZ at 7:30 am to check in; ride will begin at Scottsdale American Legion Post 44 @ 9 am and conclude at Gilbert American Legion Post 39 for food, fun, and raffle. All proceeds will benefit the Gilbert Public Safety Memorial. $25 single rider/$40 w/passenger. Rodeo by the River
The Second Annual Rodeo by the River in Lake Havasu City will be held at S.A.R.A.Park, which is south of Lake Havasu City just off of Highway 95. Look for Havasu 95 Speedway, which is at S.A.R.A. Park. Hotel Maps USA, in conjunction with Bikers USA has set up an interactive Rodeo by the River rally map, and a Havasu 95 Speedway hotels map. Both maps are definitely worth checking out, particularly if you want or need a hotel room.
This years’ motorcycle rodeo at Rodeo by the River will have all the typical biker games, and there will be prizes awarded. The venue is terrific, as is Lake Havasu City. There is camping for those who prefer camping rather than getting a room at a Lake Havasu City hotel.

NEW! Interactive Ride Map for Torches Across America Annual motorcycle ride from Oceanside CA to commemorate 9/11/01, and thank the countrys’ soldiers and first responders. Ride visits crash sites at the Pentagon, Ground Zero WTC NYC, and Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville PA. Riders along the route are welcome to join the ride and make the trip. There is much better camping in the area. Even Gunstock is better, but they want an outrageous 5 night minimum. Definitely, chill out in Weirs Beach on Saturday night. My favorite Hotel is in the little town of Lincoln NH (my exact favorite is secret, sorry). For hotels closest to both the races in Loudon and Weirs Beach, choose Loudon, Concord,or Tilton. On the way from NY and CT, stop off at Sturbridge Village on Thursday 6/15. On Sunday 6/18, if you’re heading back to Boston, stop at Hampton Beach and spend Sunday evening in Hampton NH, Seabrook NH, or Salisbury MA. | Sturgis Rally | 8/7 - 8/13 | Campgrounds are definitely the best. Laughlin River Run, an annual run to the Colorado River and the casinos in Laughlin, Nevada, is the largest motorcycle event on the west coast. In 2006, it will be in its’ 24th year. The River Run received national media attention in 2002 as a result of a fight between two rival clubs. Many visitors to Laughlin are likely to visit Bullhead City, Arizona. In addition to Nevada having a mandatory motorcycle helmet law, the city of Laughlin has imposed other restrictions on the event, such as no cans or glass bottles on Casino Drive, and a curfew of 6pm for people under age 18. The run continues to be extremely popular. April 26 - April 30, 2006.
