Biker Links is the section of the BIKERS Directory for any site that is difficult for my brain to classify early in the morning before my first cup of coffee.

It’s difficult to categorize some of the more commercial, polished sites that are fairly large and have a bit of everything. For example, a Bikers Personal Site on steroids (hmmm..kinda like BIKERS?) would end up going here until it can get further classified either geographically, or by a particular segment of the motorcycling community it serves, such as Harley Bikers, or Motorcycle Clubs, or Motorcycle Events, or Used Harley.

Find a Harley-Davidson to buy at Hawg Used Harley. There are currently more than 1900 Harley motorcycles for sale. If you are selling your Harley, list it at Hawg Used Harley and it is automatically listed on 40 affiliate sites. Used Harleys, custom choppers and American-made cruiser class motorcycles  are the only motorcycles we sell.

The BIKERS Directory - my personal and admittedly biased favorite for the reasons state below.

Mission: To create the BEST BIKERS and Motorcycle Directory in the World. The Bikers Directory by BIKERS USA was originally started before BikersMag, when I volunteered as an editor at the Open Directory Project (ODP) in 1998 or 1999. They had not recognized BIKERS, like hippies, as a subculture of society, yet as a subculture we had long established roots and were growing. Everything related to motorcycles was classified as recreation, but BIKERS is a lifestyle. Bikers have a history of discrimination and wrong attitudes against us by the establishment, including refusal to serve us because of our attire, and refusal to allow us into campgrounds because of loud pipes, and constant legislation to try and regulate us. So, I created the BIKERS category and added hundreds of great Biker sites. I created a definition of biker that didn’t have the word gangs in it. Many of the older sites are still around today! I stopped being an editor when ODP tried to force me to add adult sites, which would have cheapened the Biker image. That would be contrary to our cause, which was respect, equal treatment, and the continuation of our way of life. (In the year 2000 and 2001, most of the internet sites that were making any money featured porn, so I believe that was a major reason to force the biker lady out). Take a look at how popular it is to be recognized as BIKERS today, and go ahead and put some of the blame/recognition on me and those early biker sites, along with the many motorcycle magazines. Please don’t blame me for ALL the biker wannabe’s in the last few years. Many of them were fueled by the new TV shows which have us drooling over custom choppers we cannot afford. If you’re like me and cannot afford them, just remember CHROME WON’T GET YOU HOME. There is no need to put down the yuppy biker if you feel fortunate for what you have. I’m lucky to have been able to afford my Harley Sportster 1200 XLH, which I bought as a used Harley. Even though I own one of the top biker sites in the world, I cannot afford a new Harley today, let alone a Big Dog or custom chrome chopper. It’s all part of life and the lifestlye. Be who you are, and the rest don’t mean sh*t. (Right little E?)

Biker Crossroads - has a nice interactive map. Input your destination and your origin, and you will be able to get directions and find motorcycle related businesses that are enroute to your destination. Due to the proliferation of sites that are nothing more than directories and/or forums which spring from nowhere overnight by non-bikers, BIKERS USA has begun a policy of not promoting new sites unless they are for a charity or other non-commercial purpose. In order to do this, we will check the wayback machine and whois to confirm the site has existed at least 10 months.

I will report spammers. I do not spam. I don’t like being spammed. I do not want my visitors spammed.

I will establish reciprocal links with most motorcycling sites, but not all. I’m leery about promoting everyones’ site ever since seeing what appeared to be my company name used in advertisements by an oriental spammer who runs a biker dating site which claims to be run by bikers (yuh, right). Anyways, this wipe emailed all the motorcycle sites via spam tactics using foreign server bounces. Thousands of biker sites bought in to setting up reciprocal links for him. If you block emails from him, it does no good because they bounce off another server! I’m not going to tell you all his despicable tactics other than he’s been banned from forums and goes back in using a different IP.

I report hundreds of spammers every day to Spamcop and spam@uce.gov If it is really bad spam, I might notify the FTC, FCC, Secretary of Commerce, devans@doc.gov , the Attorney General for the state the spammer is in, the AG of NC since it is a disruption of a North Carolina business, agjus@mail.jus.state.nc.us , and possibly the US Attorney General.
