Motorcycle Lobby at the NC State Capitol 2/7/2007 Raleigh, NC Report by Bikers USA Motorcycle rights, safety, and education activists were in Raleigh to speak with their legislators about issues of importance to motorcyclists. In addition to motorcyclists who are private citizens, there were lobbysits from NC CBA/ABATE. CBA/ABATE set up their command post at a hotel room at Days Inn because the hotel is within walking distance of NC legislative buildings. Motorcyclists from near and far were present. Some bikers came from as far away as Franklin, NC, which is out west by the Smoky Mountains and Deals Gap. Before the meetings, issue cards were handed out so that they could be presented to the legislators. After speaking with their legislators, they reported their succeses to Docski who had a laptop to keep track of legislators who might be helpful to our causes in 2007. Here are some photos taken at the hotel room: |
