RUN FOR THE WALL

May 16 - May 27, 2007
Run For The Wall is in its’ 20th year.
Run for the Wall is most known for it’s Rolling Thunder motorcycle parade into Washington DC, but we veterans know it as motorcycle rides from west coast to east coast, and from different places, north and south, within the USA in order to thunder a message to Washington DC to never give up efforts to find POW/MIA from current and past wars and convince Washington politicians to, one way or another, always bring our troops home!

The Run For the Wall always culminates with a Rolling Thunder Protest Ride from the Pentagon to the Wall on Memorial Weekend. (Mainstream media calls it a parade but organizers prefer protest ride so you’ll remember this is a mission - a huge mission!).

2005 Run For the Wall Photos

Bikers USA visited the RFTW arrival in Roanoke Virginia and took photos. See RFTW Photos.

If you are a long distance rider, on your way back from the Run for the Wall, you might want to work Ohio Bike Week into your plans. They usually have a 3 day ride that makes it pretty cool for those bikers who want to join up with the ride in from other points such as Michigan, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, and New England. Bikers USA is even considering a ride in from the south, (the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, at the end of May.  For information about the block party in Niagara Falls, please see New York Bikers. Information about the first overnight stop in Windsor, and camping at the second overnight stop in Port Dover will be posted soon, so please check back for more information.

Estimated Attendance: Over 500,000. It’s not a party. It’s a mission to pay respect to those who have fallen and call attention to issues regarding the POW and MIA that are not accounted for after each war or conflict. We want a full accounting for every POW and MIA.

BRAND NEW for 2006:

There is a MUCH better map that is interactive! Click on the map to select a route.

WELCOME HOME, VIETNAM VETERANS

How to use the Run for the Wall Map. The numbers indicate the day of the ride. For example, Day 1 of the Southern Route is from Ontario, CA to Phoenix, AZ. Please use the map in conjunction with either the appropriate schedule for either the Central Route or Southern Route.

The new interactive maps for the routes taken by the Run For The Wall are cool! There is one for the RFTW Central Route and one for the RFTW Southern Route. They are “interactive” because they are tied into maps for each of the stops, and the maps for each of the stops has hotels for that city! You can click on any of the hotels to make reservations at any of the stops, from Ontario CA to Washington DC.
Requirement: web browser with javascript enabled.

If you plan on joining up with the Run for the Wall, please follow all the suggestions and rules found at the official web site.

The proper way to meet up with the run is in the morning before the days rides. Register (it’s free), get a wristband and band for your bike, and attend the mandatory riders meetings held each morning.

*NEW* - If you are looking for other people to ride with from other points in the country to morning meetups with the Run for the Wall, there is a new forum suitable for this purpose. Bikers Road Club Forum for Ride Plans and Invites. It is brand new. The forum for Run for the Wall Ride Plans and Invites is being created on 5/18/05, so if the forum is empty, please feel okay about being the first to post.
