The motorcycle buying and selling season does not end in May. Many people decide, after putting low milage on their motorcycles, to sell, usually to trade up to a larger bike, which usually means you can get a good deal on a bike that is practically brand new. REVIEWS AND FREE PUBLICITY FOR THE AFTERMARKET CUSTOMIZERS OR PARTS DEALERS:

If any aftermarket Sportster accessories people or customizers would like to send BIKERS USA some items to customize a 96 Sportster, you might be able to get some free publicity from BIKERS, a leading site for bikers. I’ll try it out and review it, and offer before and after pictures for comparison. There are some things I won’t consider, but Bailey is up for changes.

Changes I will consider:

• sportster chopper kit - no welding required
• larger gas tank
• triple headlights, horizontal
• mini ape hanger handlebars - maximim height allowable in 48 states. I plan to ride a lot.
• one person seat or two person seat that has a very slim profile
• forward controls
• different sissy bar - I want a slightly taller bar with the independent biker logo at the top. You make it for me. I’ll take pictures and you get publicity.
• changing out the tires..happy with black tires but will consider white walls.
• saddlebags - need to be easily detachable for an ever changing look, but not easily stolen
• new paint - I like lightning and/or fire and/or the independent biker logo.
• changing out the wheels...spokes are good. Not interested in the solid mag that catches cross winds.
• lowering wrench
• short shocks
• rear lowering kit

Note: When lowering a Sportster, there are three ways: 1. adjust the stock shocks - requires a shock adjustment tool which is cheap. If this doesn’t do enough consider 2. use a lowering kit. 3. buy shorter shocks. You should not mix option 2 and 3 because you will find that it lowers too much, resulting on tire rub, poor ground clearance, or badly reduced angles when leaning.
