10/30/04 - Resurrecting the site. There are STILL children of deployed troops. There are also children of troops who died or are in military hospitals. These kids are innocent casualties. They are victims of terrorism and aggression. They need to be remembered. They are needy. They need a hug. They must be remembered this Christmas season.

10/31/04 - Happy Samhain. Happy Halloween.

Every page I open is a page that was neglected but somehow survived for 3 years. I never know what I will find.

LAST STATUS REPORT FROM 2001

11/25 Getting word from the Bikers for Freedom Against Terrorism that the military campaign is  going well. We're hoping that many of the deployed might get home in time for Christmas. No doubt there will still be many deployed.

11/7 Still no word from any military bases. We need to have points of delivery set up. If we can get these set up we will be halfway there. Can't just go rushing up to base housing.

11/2  Made some progress in the last few days. Diesel got language translations from bumpkinswife . The good folks from SC ABATE are the first of the ABATE group to give us some support. Congrats South Carolina, and please do what you can to get the other ABATE chapters involved.  Mary Beth Crowe from Motorcycle Events Magazine reports they have the event listed.

10/20 Used WebFerret to search for all web sites that have the expression "Toy Run". Copied the list to a new page called Websites List. We can use this list to contact all webmasters of websites that have had past or present websites dealing with toy runs.

10/18 and 10/19  Worked on various websites managed by BikersMag to put pointers to the World Wide Toy Run website.

10/17/01 Janice updating web page. Contacts: Jennifer at my local bank about setting up a fund exclusively for this purpose. Jennifer suggests the official creation of a charitable organization. Contacts: Left message with SSgt  Pecham of the Toys for Tots program here in Raleigh, NC. Contacts: Left message with Capt. Tim Taylor, USN. Captain Timothy B. Taylor, United States Navy, is Director, Defense Information, for the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) at the Pentagon . Janice continues work on web page. Submits site to the Open Directory Project and prepares to send out emails to many biker websites.

10/15/01 Bikers for Freedom Against Terrorism reports they are getting the email translated into 5 different languages.

10/15/01 BikersMag urgently creates an initial web page.

10/14/01 Email from Bikers for Freedom Against Terrorism to Janice, Editor of BikersMag.

World Wide Toy Run is an effort by the Bikers for Freedom Against Terrorism, started by some riders who were deployed and drinking some beers. BikersMag.com is just one of the many staunch supporters for this very grassroots but global effort. We are not in it for money. If you see anyone asking for funds, we do not know of any that are started yet, so exercise caution. Neither World Wide Toy Run nor Bikers Magazine are affiliated with a particular motorcycle manufacturer. (Jan loves her Harley, for sure).    IF YOU CAN HELP THE EFFORT, JUST DO IT. No need to ask anyone's permission.
